Re-ordering for the introduction of a raised area at chancel steps and removal of four pews from south aisle to north aisle to create space for a disabled ramp. Already a temporary raised area in place for last 8 years. Nine letters of objection stating that project is unnecessary. Statement of need says that a raised area would allow better viewing by the congregation and could also be used for concerts and carol services. A permanent dais would be properly designed and would enhance the beauty of the church. However, the total area of the platform, around 800 square feet, is far too great which then means that there is not a need to remove any pews. The darker north side appears to be little used and would be an obvious place for the positioning of disabled access. Faculty denied for proposed re-ordering but a faculty granted for removal of chairs from the north side of church.
