Ecclesiastical Case Reports
Re St Edward the Confessor, Barnsley
(Wakefield Consistory Court: Collier Ch, August 2002)
Installation of clock– presumption
In granting a faculty for the installation of a clock in the tower of a Grade II listed church the chancellor relied upon the dictum of Gray Ch in Re St James, New Malden [1994] Fam 44 that the court should approach faculty cases on the basis that the faculty should be granted unless there were good reasons for a refusal.
